just to help out the other anon, usually you can classify racism as a system of power which specifically benefits a certain race. individuals can be prejudiced against white people but there is no system of power that harms them

I mean, I understand that this is a really controversial thing, and the immense privilege I have as a white person is probably something I’ll never be able to completely understand.

This is strictly speaking re: white-passing people, but white people have been dehumanizing, subjugating, etc. other races for hundreds of years. White people have never been forcibly relocated, enslaved, etc. simply for being white. I personally hate a lot of white people because of their willful ignorance. But I don’t think it’s possible to be racist against white people because of history, privilege, etc. Does that make any sense?

lesleypowers: I’ve seen a lot of this on Tumblr lately, so this is for all of you (including me) who want to run around in jean shorts all summer but feel like you can’t because of some intangible socially conscribed idea of what bare legs are ‘supposed’ to look like.  (Of course, some people have their own perfectly good reasons for wanting to cover up, and that’s just as fine).
